The Universal Caption Formula

Every high-performing caption follows this 3-part structure.

Step 01

Hook (Line 1)

The first line must stop the scroll. Ask a question, make a bold claim, or start a story mid-action. This is the most important line — it determines whether anyone reads the rest.

Step 02

Value (Lines 2–5)

Deliver the promised value. Tips, story, insight, or information. Keep sentences short. Use line breaks for readability. Every line should earn the next.

Step 03

CTA (Last Line)

Tell your audience exactly what to do next. Save, comment, share, click the link. Be specific — 'comment your answer below' beats 'let me know'. Specificity drives action.
